Scottsdale Medical Imaging (SMIL), American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen for the Cure all recommend breast screening with an annual mammogram for all women over 40 to help detect breast cancer at its earliest stage. SMIL’s team of breast imaging radiologists is dedicated to, and passionate about, breast screening for the early detection of breast cancer. We understand that getting an annual mammogram is not always as easy as it sounds and that every woman is different, but some studies show that skipping a breast screening every other year can miss up to 30 percent of cancers.
SMIL operates Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence, as certified by the American College of Radiology. Our breast screening technologies include 2D digital mammography and the innovative new breast tomosynthesis (also known as the 3D mammogram), breast ultrasound, breast biopsies and breast MRI, as well as the progressive breast PEM. Every breast screening exam is conducted by our highly-experienced, compassionate and caring team of Arizona medical imaging professionals.
We are also proud of our specialized Nurse Navigator Program. These Certified Breast Patient Nurse Navigators are here to discuss any breast screening for breast cancer concerns you may have and answer any of your breast screening questions. For those patients that need additional specialized breast screening appointments our breast patient nurse navigators are here to provide support and guidance.
When it’s time for your screening mammogram, trust the team of fellowship-trained Breast Imaging Radiologists, dedicated Technologist and Certified Breast Patient Nurse Navigators at Scottsdale Medical Imaging.
